Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a query and cannot find the answer below, please do not hesitate to call us and we will do our absolute best to help you with your query or questions. Just call Wayne on 07866 511 300
- Why don’t you do breakfast / What else can I do?
We are only a small family run B&B, which means we try and keep things personal for people and deliver outstanding customer service.
Being family run means we have all the other day to day activities that families have and this generally entails school runs at the beginning and end of the day so we cannot devote lots of time in the mornings to providing breakfasts.
To combat this we provide complementary snacks to guests so they have something to munch on in the morning.
People are all different and some people don’t want it and we can understand that but we cannot cater for everyone’s pallet, as much as we would like to.
We are in the process of creating a kitchen hut in the courtyard so we can offer some other, simple, breakfast items. This should be coming soon.
We will be updating our social media over the coming months so will publicise when it’s all up and running.
There are also cafes nearby, the easiest ones are “The Butchers Bite” and “The Paddox Sandwich shop” in Hillmorton.
Whilton Locks Garden Village, have a big restaurant and breakfast menu selection and is just 5 minutes away down the A5 towards Towcester.
We have 7 rooms in total, one of the B&B’s (The Paddocks, has a full kitchen and one of the Shepherds Huts (Cornflower also has a Kitchen) if you wanted to cater for yourself.
- Do you accept pets?
We will accept well behaved pets but there is a surcharge per animal per night. Please let us know that pets are coming prior to arrival.
- Do you provide plates and cutlery?
For stays of 2 nights or more we automatically add plates and cutlery to the room, If you are staying for 1 night only then just let us know that you need them and we will set the room up accordingly.
- What facilities does the room have?

Smart central heating
Underfloor heating to Bathroom (not in Huts)
Toiletries

- Are there quiet times?
Yes we ask all guests to ensure that noise is kept to a minimum between 9am and 8am as we have people who stay for work and have to lest and leave early, others have small children who need to have early nights so please be respectful and don’t stand outside someone’s window talking or making too much noise for neighbouring rooms.
- Are there details of how everything works?
In the wardrobes of most rooms are details of items contained inside. The exception is the paddocks where all the instructions are in the Wicker baskets at the bottom of the kitchen larder.
If there is more you need please just ask us, that’s what we are here for.
- I want to book more than 1 room but I am not sure if the rest of the party can make it yet can you help?
Yes we can, just call us again and we may be able to hold a room for a while as your party confirms their availability.
- Are there places to eat nearby?
Yes there are 2 pubs serving food in the village. Both are great, The Red Lion, literally across the road, and the George at the top of the village.
There are a selection of restaurants on the way to Rubgy, in Rugby and in Daventry.
Please ask us for recommendations
- Are there shops nearby?
There is a community shop at the back of The Red Lion Pub car park across the road. They are open 7 days a week but limited opening times (Please see the sign at the entrance to the pub car park for times as they vary).
There is a Co-Op, Morrisons small shop as well as a Sainsbury’s express and an Aldi in Hillmorton.
There is another Co-Op in Houlton and a big Sainsbury’s superstore in Dunchurch.
- Are there takeaways nearby?
Yes, in Hillmorton, as you head towards Rugby there are numerous takeaways.
If you fancy a specific meal please ask us and we should be able to explain where the best ones are.
Please note that we would prefer no curry in the room as we have thrown numerous amounts of bedding away due to stains.
- Do you offer discounts for Multiple nighty stays?
We try and be as competitive as we can but can pass on laundry savings for stays of more than 1 night. Please call us for details.
- I have booked a room but cannot make it can I get a full refund?
We have tried to make booking as flexible as possible and the cancellation window is up to 48hours before check in. As we are only a small, family run business, with limited rooms last minute cancellations after this time have a big financial impact on us and we just cannot fill rooms like big hotels may be able to so we have to charge the full rates.
- What is the layout of your premises?
We have 7 rooms in total. All of these rooms can be viewed at www.hunthousequarters.co.uk and select either Boutique Rooms or Deluxe Shepherds Huts.
4 of the rooms are all in the same old stable block, The Paddocks is at the end of what used to be Hunt House Restaurant and the Huts are in tucked into a secluded part of the grounds.
- Do I have my own entrance?
Yes, All the rooms have their own front doors and there are no shared areas so you can be as independent as you would like.
- Can I come and go as I wish?
Yes, all the rooms are separate so you can arrive and depart as you wish, we just ask that you respect others rest and do not make a lot of noise outside of the quieter hours listed earlier.
- How does the heating work?
In most of the rooms and Huts there is a wall mounted thermostat. Be careful not to try and use the underfloor heating thermostat in some of the rooms. They are directly outside the bathroom door and are preset.
Simply press the circle on the thermostat and the display shows current room temp in the centre and set temp in the bottom Right hand corner. Simply press + or – to increase/Decrease the room temp. All the radiator valves are locked out and controlled by the thermostat.
The exception is the Paddock, which has a wall mounted thermostat on the wallpapered wall by the wardrobe (not. the underfloor heating thermostat by the bathroom door). Again press the circlular button and the current room temp is displayed followed, a few seconds later, by the set temp. Simply use the up/Down arrows to alter the temperature
